Sine Wave

Holtzapffel J6-36 Rosette

The J6-36 rosette is a series of small sine waves, superimposed on a few lobes of sine waves. In the case of this rosette, there are 36 sine wave lobes superposed onto 6 larger sine wave lobes.

Aspect Value Comments
Pattern Sine waves, superposed onto each other sine wave lobes.
Pattern Repeated 6 times x 6 times
Target Diameter
for Rosette Design
2”
  • A smaller diameter on the object results in surfaces which have sharper curves at the apexes of the curves.

  • A larger diameter on the object reverses this.

  • An amplitude adjuster can be used to modify these effects.
Phasing Holes 1/8 lobe
Works For End Cutting Near side cutting
Far side cutting, or using rear rubber column
Side Cutting Near side cutting
Far side cutting, or using rear rubber column
Complementary Rosettes

Consider pairing this rosette with one (or more) of these.

  • The cuts in the center show how points on the shape have become more pointy.

  • The cuts around the outside show how the shapes are reversing this, becoming more convex.
