The Shamrock rosette is as it is named, in the shape of a 3-leaf clover.

Target Diameter
for Rosette Design
2”

At this diameter on the object being cut, the cuts will produce a nice shape.

  • A smaller diameter on the object results in surfaces which are concave between the apexes.

  • A larger diameter on the object results in surfaces which are convex between the apexes.

  • An amplitude adjuster can be used to modify these effects.

  • The un-cut part at the top of this example really shows well. Graining would make this more evident on some woods, especially those with very tight grain.

  • The cuts in the top center show how the shape has "collapsed" in on itself, generating a shape that is almost floral.

  • The cuts around the outside show how the shapes are reversing this, becoming more convex.
