This universal cutting frame (UCF) from Brad Davis is designed to be used with an overhead drive.

This UCF has some design features that make it a very worthwhile investment:

1. It is adjustable projection. This allows for setting it up to cut deep inside an object when that is needed, or if the depth is not needed, you can adjust the cutter to be closer to the tool post to reduce the potential for chatter.


2. It uses 3 triangular carbide inserts. I've heard it expressed that 2 inserts allows the cutter to work twice as fast, and this only helps that. Others say that the add'l inserts help polish the cut. Either way, this is a nice design.

This kit does not include the following parts. You will need to order them separately.

• Tool holder for quick change tool post (AXA size is recommended)
• Drive belt
• Overhead drive
